Orban website and ftp site

I have had no luck accessing their sites for a couple of days. Was hoping to download a 9200 manual. Anyone know what's up with them??

Re: adjust the air gap

One way is to crank the modulation up so you have the highest positive peaks you might ever have, and adjust to just beyond arc over.

Re: Harris Gates 2 and Omnia 3

Thanks. I've not dealt with an Omnia 3 before, so Sam Buca's observation is interesting. Have to say that this one on the air isn't very loud.
Supposedly the TX will do 5kw, which would make me think it has been modified. It's easily doing 2kw at this time.

Harris Gates 2 and Omnia 3

I've been asked to put a value on these two pieces of gear. Both clean and operating just fine. Any ideas??

Re: Ch 7 Modulator

Did you get rid of your modulator? I'd love a channel 7 one.

Re: 70's CBS Audio Squash Boxes

Reading about the Frese Audio Pilot, that answers a question I've had since 1972. Late in that year, I lived in Denver and did overnights at KTLK, the very number 2 competition to KIMN. At the time, XEROK in Juarez was starting to promote themselves as "X-Rock 80" and they were easily the loudest th...

Re: 70's CBS Audio Squash Boxes

CBS also made a Recording Volumax that was patterned after the 410. They also made a tube-type Audimax 2 that used the fabled 6386 twin triode. One would speculate there was an Audimax 1, but I've never seen one no documentation of one. The "Max Brothers" of the 60's and early 70's gave Top-40 music...

Gorman Redlich ant monitor and lightning

First of all, it was a pleasant discovery to find this forum!
Anyone have any ideas as to how to lightning-proof (LOL) a Gorman-Redlich antenna monitor? They seem to take a dump if a storm is just nearby. The old Potomac Instruments monitors didn't seem to be as sensitive...
