Re: Offical AMC 8 Transition Thread (was Sat. AMC-8)
So I have now tried unsuccessfully to do two different dishes, and failed. Neither of them are mine (I work for a non-comm all our stuff is on SES-2), but I try to help people out when I can. This was the first: 20170419_181825.jpg No Idea of the make, its about 9' (3m). I warned them it may not wor...

Re: Wheatnet vs AXIA
I actually have a rednet setup at home in my recording studio. Latency would not be an issue, with the rednet PCIe card I can get 3ms round trip into/out of my DAW, and Dante network latency is 150 MICROseconds IIRC. And I believe Dante is used by some manufacturers of Broadcast equipment, AEQ capit...

Re: Rivendell Radio Automaiton
FWIW I ran a station on the air with RD for 2 years (station went under due to poor management). It was absolutely rock solid. I ran it on OLD (even at the time) Dell poweredge servers, with a Primary and backup server, a primary and backup on-air, and a prod machine. Initially using a single M-Audi...

Re: Wheatnet vs AXIA
SAS and Lawo also support AOIP but with a different architecture. Yes I'll add SAS and LAWO to the list. Logitek will also do AOIP (I have a fair amount of experience with thier TDM system) Remember, AES 67 supports audio exchange but not necessarily control. Which is a strong argument for picking ...

Re: Broadcast Technology Company?
I found the Manual over at the shop. It's not in great shape but I'll scan it and post it up somewhere for you. Might take a couple days, I don't think it's in good enough shape to put through the autofeeder so I'll have to scan each page manually.

Sounds like the same one. I had a crazy week and didn't have time to look for that manual. I'll try again on Monday.

Wheatnet vs AXIA
Sorry if this one has been done to death before, but google wasn't helping out much. I'd Like to hear from any who have actually worked with both for some time. I May have the chance to do a major studio build in the next 18-24 mo. I'm talking totally from scratch, mostly new equipment. 4 air studio...

Re: Broadcast Technology Company?
Is this a Blue/Beige 4 or 5 RU box? I've got a couple in storage. Maybe I have a manual....I'll have a look. What I know about them, they were made for a few years, had lots of problems and went out of business. Or something like that, it was all before my time as an engineer. I've had comments on t...
