Smpte timecode to ESE timecode
Hello, I have an EVERTZ 5600 MSC master clock. I have other equipment that wants ESE TC-89. I have very little budget. Whats the cheapest way to get ESE TC-89 from say SMPTE or NTP? I can find very little info on the actual differences or protocol of ESE, I suppose they don't hand that out though th...

Re: Very low power recommendation
Crown classic 30watt. not sure if they still make them. the new crowns are Ecresso's and theyr'e ok but I like the classics better. BW stuff is ok and has gotten better over time. BE FXi60 is one of my favorite exciters, had one driving less than 10 watts an RVR PA. worked fine sounded great. still ...

Re: Remote Start AEQ BC 500 - Automation
The instructions for remote control on mairlist start on page 59 of the english manual http://download.mairlist.com/current/mAirList/v3.1/doc/en/mAirList-3.1-User-Manual.pdf It looks like your best bet is the IO warrior device they recomend insection 7.7.6 on page 61. here's a video but the guy just...

AES/EBU utility mixer
I'm looking for a small and preferably cheap device to take 2 AES/EBU signals, and take the left channel of each and put seperately on the left and right of an output. so in1 left to out L and in 2 left to out right. oh, and not requiring a running computer at all times (config by computer is fine)s...

Re: Remote Start AEQ BC 500 - Automation
Somehow I doubt that you are using a professional broadcast automation system in a home studio. Rivendell is free if you don't need support..... I know a consultant that has his own nexgen setup at home running a streaming station. But yes the question comes down more to what is your automation sys...

Re: DBX286 with an 8Khz whine from the de-esser
AS I recall, it came and went with the bypass of the de-esser section, the de-esser controls didn't affect it. I do have a scope and remember trying to track it down, but it seemed to be everywhere. I could probably shotgun caps, nothing looked bulged or leaking. Time to dig it out and try again, si...

Re: DBX286 with an 8Khz whine from the de-esser
It's not the project1 version, and It's not the new "s" version, so maybe its the "a" version. It has an internal PSU, and a black case with grey/white lettering (IIRC, havr to dig it out of the closet again...) I have a few of the updated 286a units and have never had that issue...

DBX286 with an 8Khz whine from the de-esser
The other DBX post reminded me I have a 286 at home which works fine except when the De-Esser is engaged you get an approx 8Khz whine in the audio. I suspect an op-amp is oscillating in the De-ESSER circuit but I havent been able to track it down. Anyone ever have this happen or have some advice? Th...

Re: Arbitron/Neilsen Encoders
Oddly enough I got one of those emails asking me to check that the lights were green on one of my stations later the day I posted my previous comment. Of Course the stations I work for now DO penetrate a rated market and (I Believe) DO pay for the books, So I make sure they are always encoded. I'm s...

Re: 100 OHM 100W resistor in Harris HT35FM PA Cavity
Parts ordered, Ohmite is the manufacturer now. I had to order three. I'll keep one as a spare.
Does anyone else want one?
They have the holders too.
Thanks!

Re: 100 OHM 100W resistor in Harris HT35FM PA Cavity
So I pulled this thing apart a couple weeks ago and found a part number on the resistor. 20190116_101714.jpg 20190116_101558.jpg The original manufacturer is currently owned by ohmite it seems, they are working on finding me a replacement part. I believe that resistor is used as a corona swamping re...

Re: STRANGE COIL - UNUSUAL PROPAGATION?
What are you intending to do with such a coil? By the way I followed some of the links, and most of them reek of psuedo-science, though I will admit to not having enough time to research the subject thoroughly, the presentation and lack of actual science presented reminds me of audiophile sites hawk...

Re: Arbitron/Neilsen Encoders
I was in a similar situation once, with a translator. I pulled them, set them next to the rack, and AFAIK they're still setting next to the rack. only difference was it was a religious NCE station. I'm really not even sure WHY they had them in the first place..... AFAIK NO-one ever called to ask abo...
