sat look angle calculator
There used to be a good one on-line I can't find anymore. Used google maps, had the right satellites for North America, and showed the direction on the map. Need to see if we can get SES-11 at our one studio site--may be adding a station & plan using some satellite fed programming. Site wouldn't...

simple-free or low cost
Looking for simple music player--takes a list, plays cuts randomly, & can insert ID's, liners every so often. For a low power.
Tried Station Playlist, but would cost $400 for anything that would work. Tried Zara, but kept stopping...has to be able to run unattended.
Suggestions?

Re: Suggestions for FM Tuner
For a tuner with a clean enough composite output you are probably looking at the Inovonics composite receiver. Unless you can find a used one, probably in the range of $1,600. For around a grand you can buy a used Inovonics modulation monitor which would allow off-air measurement from Bay Country. L...

I would plan on recapping even if you find a slow or dead fan.

Re: Harris THE-1 stereo Pilot issue
Sorry--THE-1---uses the same cards as an MX-15 for AFC, etc. Different power amp.

Re: Harris THE-1 stereo Pilot issue
Of the top of my head, I believe there is nothing in the MX-15 that would interfere or eliminate the stereo pilot. Suspect the place to check is with the audio processor, to see if it may be switched to mono.

pin-out Marti SR10-E receiver
This is the digitally synthesized model, rack mount, speaker right side, three buttons below channel readout. 15 pin "D" on the back.
Haven't been able to find a manual on-line. Need the pin-outs on the "D-Sub" connector so I can slave an RPT-30 transmitter to it.

AFC in the MS-15, a re-design in the MX supposedly cured this. Known as the Axel F. phenomenon. From the Axel Foley theme from Beverly Hills Cop:

Re: Tower replacement for Two combined NON-D AM's
FM translator: Not necessarily. The translator's 60 dbu has to fit inside the greater of the 2 mv/m contour or a 25 mile circle from the AM transmitter site. For example: 1. Class C on 1450, the station acquired a translator that they had to move off-site. New site is 17 miles from the AM transmitte...

Radio Dan (Radiodan.com) and RF Parts (RFParts.com) have used dummy loads at reasonable prices--e.g. Decibel Products 100 watt for $95.
Always handy to have on hand.

Re: Harris HT5 IPA replacement
If you can get a good match to the final, look at a Nautel VS300. It will operate as low as 50 watts comfortably, yet should be enough drive to make your licensed TPO.

Which we (Fireman No, 1 and me, Fireman No. 2) have been urging them to do--(convert to 50 ohm input, that is). Then get a solid state kilowatt transmitter to drive the final (believe about 600 watts drive is needed). Which could then be used as a back-up when something else breaks. The two small op...
