APTx to .wav conversion
Hi all,
I don't recall if I have asked this on this forum before but...
I have 2 customers still running the old AXS automation systems with APTx cards. They are contimplating installing Simian and we are trying to decide how best to get their old commericals and music into the new systems. I thought that I had a converter for APTx but found that it was actually for Antex.
So, anybody know of a utility or plugin that will decode APTx?
Regards,

Re: APTx to .wav conversion
IIRC, there used to be a paid plug-in for TLC that did that. I think it was a one shot deal, though.
When I converted DOS SS music to SS32, I re-ripped from the source. Added a small amount of time to produce, since the some of the metadata has to be entered manually (SOF, EOF, EOM, Playback level). Good job for a summer intern.

I had somebody contact me with a similar situation and we just ended up re-ripping the entire library. For a handful of spots they no longer had masters for they did an analog transfer to the new box.
I could have used that Antex converter ages ago, as I ended up re-ripping that library from the ground up to get away from some dirt-old, buggy DOS automation.

I might know of something that will do the job, will have a look on my old engineering PC tomorrow.

Neither of these stations have TLC that I recall and both are basically 1 man operations. One is still using DOS music and traffic software. We were trying to make the changeover as painless and fast as possible by keeping the cut numbering the same for both stations.KPJL FM wrote:IIRC, there used to be a paid plug-in for TLC that did that. Someone had mentioned that SoX might convert them but I haven't had a sample to try yet.

Re: APTx to .wav conversion
I wrote a front end batch file to convert .wav files to antex so that production could be done at a main station and sent out to others that were using RDS Phantoms.Bill DeFelice wrote:I had somebody contact me with a similar situation and we just ended up re-ripping the entire library. It saved them a ton of time to convert much faster than realtime.

Re: APTx to .wav conversion
I found the utility program, but not sure if it will work for you.
Is there a way you can send me a short audio file and I can test it first?
