I was saddened to discover this morning that broadcast engineer Lane Lindstrom (Virtual Engineer forum member Radiolanes) passed away yesterday due to Sarcoma, which apparently he beat once but returned with a vengeance.
Lane was a broadcast engineer in the central Illinois area. I was fortunate enough to not only discuss full power broadcast equipment repair with him but he was quite instrumental in assisting one of my HobbyBroadcaster.net forum members with the restoration of a Gates Dualux console. He also served as a friend and mentor to many.
I consider myself lucky to have crossed paths with him. It seems we're losing lots of good engineering talent these days.
Doesn't fit in a category? It does now.
