And then there is the ultimate cow-tastrophe. This was an FM site--the FM station moved out of the inaccessible hill-top WV site after a change to the city of license allowed them to move closer to populated areas. The two-way company that owned the site had several repeaters in the building, tied in with their main system in the northern part of the county. They began to receive complaints from customers, figured out this site was off-line. So they got in their FWD and ground up the bad road to the site.
As they approached the shed they saw the door was open. When they got closer they discovered the problem. A cow had managed to get in the building--but couldn't turn around or get back out. So she thrashed around, knocking over racks, destroying equipment until she died. Several days before-- and now very ripe.

Well, at least they didn't have to worry about keeping grass down at the site.

There is a company called Rent A Goat ( I saw a news piece where a park in Brooklyn, NY has placed goats there to mow the fields. I recall being in Aruba during a new tower erection and was tasked with shooing the neighbor's goats away from the newly laid ground radials. Their hoofs would tear up the installation. This was before we had soil and rocks delivered. The goats shouldn't present an problem for buried radials.
