OPIF Health

Post by kkiddkkidd » Mon Jan 22, 2018 8:56 am

Does anyone know for sure if the OPIF system has been repaired and working?

Last week it was reported that numerous people were receiving errors when uploading docs and the FCC help desk was aware of and working on it. Now with the guberment shut down, I am betting that unless it got fixed Friday, it is still broken.

I have a number of client visits scheduled this week to setup OPIFs and don't really want to drive 2hrs to find it not working.

Thanks,

The FCC has announced that it will remain open for business at least through Friday. Apparently it has funding available to operate until then, if the rest of the government can't get its panties untwisted.

Whether or not they make it a priority to fix OPIF, who knows.

Thanks. I will try the help desk again in a few minutes. Maybe a live person will answer this time.

I just called the help desk again and the call was actually answered by a live person. She advised the same thing that I was told last week... "We are aware of the problem and it is being worked on. We have no time frame for repair. Try back occasionally". The upload, download, blank page, missing files, errored file problems etc are all part of the same server issue.

This morning when I first called, the call rang a number of times and then was dumped with a "thank you for calling the FCC but we are unable to process your call" error message.

They are taking a list of phone & email addresses to notify but she said it could be up and operating for a good while before the calls or email went out. I put myself on the list and will advise back when I get a call if we don't have confirmation that it is back up before then.

Thanks,

I received a call this afternoon from the FCC telling me that the OPIF site was repaired and working. The nice lady did comment that heavy server traffic would be a problem for the next few weeks but that the scrambled up/down loads had been corrected.

Good luck,
