Responsibilities: EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED This list of duties is not exhaustive, and duties may be added, deleted or changed at any time, without notice. 1. Preventative maintenance and emergency repairs of video, audio equipment and radio frequency (RF) systems. Heavy emphasis on News gathering equipment including camcorders, VTR’s wireless gear, live trucks and monitors. 2. Installation of video, audio and RF equipment. Updating of technical plan documentation when installations are completed to include changes that were made. 3. Administer computer based audio/video/control systems. 4. Document and keep records of equipment repairs. 5. Research part numbers and pricing. 6. Perform IT operations, assistance and installations as needed. 7. Participate in the weekly on-call engineer schedule. This is an after hours duty that may be assistance by phone or require a return trip to the facility. This will also include the analog/digital transmitters and translators as part of the responsibility. 8. Must be able to perform live truck repairs in confined spaces and on top of vehicle with the use of mobile work platform. 9. Perform other duties as needed and directed by Engineering Management.
Requirements: REQUIREMENTS 1. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Two-year electronic technical degree or equivalent. Four year degree preferred. 2. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of Broadcast TV maintenance. Two years News equipment maintenance or equivalent. 3. EQUIPMENT: Familiar with various test instruments, alignment apparatus and knowledge of personal computers. Operational knowledge of television station equipment. 4. LICENSE: FCC General Ratiotelephone Operator License or Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. 5. SKILLS: Individual should possess skills of time management and self-motivation. Ability to work well with other people. Comprehend schematics, mechanical drawings and technical manuals. Able to transport and lift equipment up to 50 pounds. Work evenings and/or weekends. Work overtime as required. 6. DRIVING: Valid Arizona drivers licence and provide proof of insurability. This job will require driving on mountain roads ranging from paved city parks access to rugged rocky roads requiring the use of 4 wheel drive vehicle.
