Howdy,
I had heard that the power amps for the Z 10 Harris rig are getting not so available these days. Is that true?
Thanks

GatesAir has them on exchange, though roughly $800 per.

I've been pretty successful repairing them on my kitchen table. The output transistors are available from the Philippines for about $30 each from Alibaba.com. A large soldering pencil and some solder wick and the blown transistors are easily removed. In spite of just one transistor being blown, I have always replaced them all. No special jigs or factory required. The ones I've repaired have been in service for over ten years now.

Rich, you might want to contact engineering at Minnesota Public Radio. When we converted some of their Z transmitters to HD radio the old analog modules got pulled and the new linearized modules were installed, and I think they hung onto the analog modules--they should have a bunch of them.

I have also successfully repaired Z PA modules .. transistors were purchased from DigiKey.

Also, having since totally re-built the rectifier modules using different fuses, I have not had a single PSU TAP fault in the 18 months since installing them. :D
