Never heard of them. Where are they made, where can you get them from?

My only experience was back in about 1965-66 shortly after starting work in sales at Harris in Quincy. They were trying to use one of their jugs in a vapor phased cooled 50kw AM xmttr (VP-50 development). They were not successful in that application at all, and they switched to EIMAC.

Other than that, the company has been around for a very long time. I tend to believe their usage in the USA is very limited, whereas EIMAC, as well as a few other foreign brands are much more common.

Look before you leap, Fossil!

I thought way back then that they were a foreign company. After a quick look-see, I discovered they are a US company. Sorry for the veiled insinuation they were foreign made.

I am going to guess that they are now Chinese. I recall hearing much lamenting about the original Machlett company closing back in the 90's and someone else purchasing the name and intellectual property. The original US manufactured Machlett tubes were supposed to be superior to most others but I never had any of them.

Pretty sure Varian bought them around 1990.

The Machlett name is owned by by Penta Labs. They use it on their (almost certainly Chinese made) microwave tubes. Just another legacy name slapped on what is now garbage. Like Amperex...Richardson bought the name and uses it on Chinese made 4-400's.
