Auditronics 200 210 or 212 manual

Post by kkiddkkidd » Wed Feb 01, 2017 2:59 pm

Hi all,

I have a client with 2 or 3 Auditronics consoles that are a mix of 200, 210 and 212(iirc) but only have been able to find an old ripped up 200 manual. And of course these models are similar but yet completely different.

Anybody got electronic copies of these manuals?

Thanks,

Hi, I came across your post and were wondering if you were still looking for a manual? I have 2 Auditronics 212 consoles. I have talked with Lightner Electronics and got a manual specific to those consoles. They are almost the same as the 210 series except the output modules are direct and the control room module on the 210 series. If you still need one I can scan it and send it to you or if the 210 series will do just let me know and I have a digital copy of that service manual. It is too large to attach in this forum.

If you get a chance, scan it but for the minute, that project is on hold. The stations have sold and I am not sure what the new owners have in mind. I have another station with a 210 and they don't have a full manual for it either.

Forgot to mention,,,,I got a 210 in Racine, and that thing's been a "brick". Only failure I can recall is recently the input select push buttons oxidized on a couple input modules. Two squirts of De-Oxit and we were back in business.

Board was installed back in the late 70]s as I recall. Only negative is that mechanically it s a bit awkward to work on. But, then, iffen it don't break, "what me worry"???

"Brick" is a term that I have long heard for reliable equipment. In engineering terms, what is the antonym for "brick?" I would suggest "sponge," something that soaks up money by way of of parts, engineering time, and lost revenue.

The only real trouble I ever had with them was the Channel On / Off switches. The rock jocks would hit the start buttons so hard that the magnet would mechanically break off. The usual oxidation on the selector switches and they would wear out the Control Room Monitor and Headphone pots but it was all an easy fix. They do not like having the modules hot swapped though. After several years you get the feel and you can pull off a hot swap with about a 70% success rate without tripping the breaker on the power supply. I always had the jock stand at the power supply with a finger at the ready to turn it back on if it tripped.

Great consoles!
