KFXL-TV's tower in Lincoln NE collapsed Friday morning.
A 500-foot-tall communications tower in north Lincoln collapsed Friday morning, knocking out television, phone, internet and other service for some customers.

Any news release as to what brought it down? Seems a little early for ice.Hard to tell for sure, but in that picture looks like it was well loaded up transmission lines etc.

There's a rumor on Facebook that the guy wires were not properly maintained. That is however just a rumor and I know nothing about the quality of the source.

One story I saw said the tower had not been well-maintained of late and that someone on or near the site heard a snap before the tower came down.
Not only no ice or snow here yet; we have not yet had a hard freeze so lots of bugs still flying around.
