QEI 671 FM Mod Monitor

Post by jthorusen » Thu Sep 06, 2018 10:46 pm

Greetings to the Forum:

I am trying to scrounge a modulation monitor for a LPFM. There is a QEI 671 on fleabay right now but I am unable to find any information about it on line. Does anyone have a scan of the manual? I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the book out of my pocket only to find out that it can't be used in my application.

Thanks,

Don't know that model but some of a similar age--I'm thinking the Belar series--were fixed tuned.

Greetings to TPT and the Forum:

I don't anticipate a huge problem with moving one of the older monitors in frequency. I will probably have to build a synthesized source to replace a rock if the units are superhet (unless I can come up with a rock more easily than I can build the synthesizer). I only looked into a mod monitor once in my entire career as an engineer and I cannot now remember anything about it except that it was an older Belar and I believe it used a pulse-counting discriminator.

Anyway, if the price is right, I will make a valiant effort to move it. Who knows... I might even be successful!
